House Church

[printfriendly]

When two or three born-again believers come together, that is a church. Jesus promises
to be present with them every time that happens. The word “church” means a gathering or
assembly. It is simply a gathering of Jesus’ disciples. In the Book of Acts and in Paul’s
letters we read that they met in homes, ate meals together, took communion, studied the
apostles’ doctrine, worshipped and prayed together and ministered to one another.
In many places in the world today, these gatherings are called “house church.” There is a
massive return worldwide to the simplicity of the primitive church. This simple approach
is being implemented in countries all over the world, especially in countries like China,
India and all across Africa!
