Walk by Faith

Romans 12:3 (NKJV)
3 For I say, through the grace given to me,
to everyone who is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think,
but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Hebrews 10:23(NKJV)
Let us hold fast the confession
of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.

Romans 4:17 (NKJV)
(as it is written, “I have made you a father
of many nations”)
in the presence of Him whom he believed—
God, who gives life to the dead
and calls those things which
do not exist as though they did;

Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV)
22 So Jesus answered and said to them,
“Have faith in God.
23 For assuredly, I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done,
he will have whatever he says.
24 Therefore I say to you,
whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them,
and you will have them.

Romans 4:20-21 (NKJV)
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

James 2:14-26 (NKJV)

New King James Version
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without [a]your works, and I will show you my faith by [b]my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is [c]dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made [d]perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was [e]accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Hebrews 10:19-33 (NKJV)
New King James Version
Hold Fast Your Confession
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Just Live by Faith
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” [b]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 But recall the former days in which, after you were [c]illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated;

Hebrews 12: (NKJV)
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded
by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance
the race that is set before us,
2 looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand
of the throne of God.
3 For consider Him who endured
such hostility from sinners against Himself,
lest you become weary
and discouraged in your souls.

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people,
that you may proclaim the praises
of Him who called
you out of darkness
into His marvelous light;

Jeremiah 29
11 For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
12 Then you will call upon Me
and go and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
13 And you will

Hebrews 11:6 (PTP)
And without faith living within us
it would be impossible to please God.
For we come to God in faith
knowing that he is real
and that he rewards the faith
of those who give all
their passion and
strength into seeking him.

Moving On to Deeper Truth
6 Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God,

Luke 18:8 (NKJV)
I tell you that He will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes,
will He really find faith on the earth?”

Luke 17:20-37 (NKJV)
20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees
when the kingdom of God would come,
He answered them and said,
“The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’
For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
22 Then He said to the disciples,
“The days will come when you will desire to see
one of the days of the Son of Man,
and you will not see it.
23 And they will say to you,
‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’
Do not go after them or follow them.
24 For as the lightning that flashes
out of one part under heaven
shines to the other part under heaven,
so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
25 But first He must suffer many things
and be rejected by this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives,
they were given in marriage,
until the day that Noah entered the ark,
and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot:
They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold,
they planted, they built;
29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom
it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all.
30 Even so will it be in the day
when the Son of Man is revealed.
31 “In that day, he who is on the housetop,
and his goods are in the house,
let him not come down to take them away.
And likewise the one who is in the field,
let him not turn back.
32 Remember Lot’s wife.
33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed:
the one will be taken and the other will be left.
35 Two women will be grinding together:
the one will be taken and the other left.
36 [Two men will be in the field:
the one will be taken and the other left.”
37 And they answered and said to Him,
“Where, Lord?”
So He said to them, “Wherever the body is,
there the eagles will be gathered together.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (PTP)
The Passion Translation
16 For the Lord himself will appear
with the declaration of victory,
the shout of an archangel,
and the trumpet blast of God.
He will descend from the heavenly realm
and command those who are
dead in Christ to rise first.
17 Then we who are alive will join them,
transported together in clouds
to have an encounter with the Lord in the air,
and we will be forever joined with the Lord.
18 So encourage one another with these truths.
